A lot of people close to me have struggled with alcohol and drug addiction. So two years ago when my friend mentioned the London Youth Involvement Project, I decided to join. It's run by Mentor, a drug and alcohol abuse prevention charity, and involves about 10 young people from London.

It's been three years since I lost my brother Jordan to a type of bone cancer called osteosarcoma. He was 16 and my best friend. He was the happiest and bravest person I know.

I didn't notice anything was wrong until February 2010, when I found a lump under my arm. I wasn't concerned, even though I had lost weight and felt tired. My GP told me I was just a tired teenager.
